The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences sits at the intersection of the arts, design, science and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues. Established in 1881, the museum includes the Powerhouse Ultimo, Sydney Observatory, and the Museums Discovery Centre in Castle Hill and will expand to include the museum’s new flagship - Powerhouse Parramatta. The Museum is the custodian of over half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia.In my role of Head of ICT Operations I am responsible for leading, planning and implementing ICT service models and ways of working across multiple sites including ICT workflows, commissions and the day-to-day operations of the ICT team, systems and infrastructure. I am accountable for managing technical staff responsible for the maintenance and support of these systems, ensuring that they operate effectively and efficiently to support operations. The ICT function works across the Powerhouse to deliver its digital transformation enabling efficient and collaborative ways of working and increasing technology and cybersecurity capabilities.

I joined Endemol Shine Australia in Feb 2020 (just before the first COVID lockdowns) and was responsible for the end-to-end operations of all internal IT systems and leading the IT support team to provide full systems and user support to a user body of up to 700 staff. Due to the nature of the business over 80% of the user body is employed on a contract basis, and as such staff turnover is extremely high and this is also a critical management responsibility.I assumed the role of acting Head of IT, ensuring continuation of all BAU operations and support levels, whilst assuming responsibilities of IT lead within ESA. I joined Mood Media Australia in January 2016 in the role of IT Manager, and was responsible for the end-to-end operations of all internal IT systems and customer service platforms, including support and development of products and services for internal and customer use.My role also involved assisting customers to integrate Mood Media solutions into their IT environments, which include many of the largest and well known retail and hospitality brands in Australia. I was responsible for the end-to-end provision and operation of IT services to over 350 staff for Assetinsure and 9 client companies across several Australian and east Asian locations.My role set was as follows:IT Operations management- end-to-end provision of reliable and scalable systems for all clients, from PC/app support through to server/networks/comms/security availability- provisioning and operational management of both on-premise and hosted environments- management of support Help Desk & engineering team, with hands on requirement for escalations- management of all IT services support maintenance & contracts- client & vendor management (procurement, incident support and change management, maintenance contracts)- liaison with internal application developers to ensure reliable delivery and support of enterprise application within production IT infrastructure- documentation of all IT operations (assets, users, procedures, support contracts, invoicing)- regular reporting of service capabilities and incident and resource managementService Delivery / IT Infrastructure Design & Deployment- architect and lead delivery role in all current IT infrastructure environments for Assetinsure and its IT clients, from business requirements analysis through to procurement, installation and production activation, for all IT environment elements including: + server and storage (SAN) + virtualisation + networking (LAN, WAN, internet, VPN, VoIP) + backup, replication, failover + applications (enterprise, CRM, Doc Mgt, desktop)- responsible for all logistics of deployment and installation, including full infrastructure refreshes and office relocationsBCP provisioning- primary contact for all matters BCP- architect of all BCP recovery plans for Assetinsure and its IT clients- responsible for arranging and performing scheduled rehearsals- key role in technical admin of BCP contracts (ensuring correct provision of equipment)

Essentially the same job responsibilities as per my later IT Infrastructure Manager title at Assetinsure, for which I was recognised due to organisational changes in 2014.

Originally employed as an application programmer, growth at Gerling required new networking resources, and I migrated my career and skill set into network support and management.Direct responsibility in expansion of IT environment of Gerling Re from 30 staff in one Sydney office to 200 staff across 4 new operating divisions located in 6 offices in Australia and New Zealand. Responsible for the overall delivery, performance and integrity of information technology infrastructure for all of Gerling’s divisions, incorporating all interfaces to the structure (servers, desktops, applications, comms, telephony). Also oversaw the day-to-day provision of the corporate IT Help Desk.
