I manage a team of 41 officers responsible for administering legislation in relation to Environmental Protection and maintaining standards in the Private Rented Sector (Housing). The team covers a wide remit including Noise, Air Quality, Contaminated Land, public health and repair standards in the Private rented sector including landed registration, tenancy deposits and illegal evictions etc. We are also a key consultee to the planning service.We monitor air quality standards across the city and are responsible for working with statutory partners to identify measures to improve air quality in the city.I am the Councils lead officer in relation to the Transfer of HMO regulation from the NIHE to Councils. I also represent the Council on the regional steering group that has been established to oversee the transfer. The Councils new City & Neighbourhood Services Department is undergoing a structural review. I am leading a particular work steam that is considering how we deliver Night Time and Out of Hours Services.
