Stephen’s professional experience began in large public school districts, moving quickly to higher education as Controller at Moore College of Art and Design, where an exiting president and a mounting budget deficit greeted him. Gained significant experience in turnaround of the institution amidst a declaration of financial exigency. Moore's turnaround served as a laboratory while Stephen completed his MBA and weathered 4 presidents in his 5 years at Moore, and advanced to Treasurer during this time. Hired as Exec. Director of Finance at Chestnut Hill College, where he was later promoted to VP for Financial Affairs. One of his key accomplishments was implementing modern approaches to managing resources amidst declining enrollments and financial challenges. Played a leadership role with the senior team to stabilize finances and set the stage for Chestnut Hill’s next stage of growth.At Cabrini College (now Cabrini University) Stephen was a key protagonist of growth strategy in enrollment, budget, building square footage (increased by 50%) and quality of construction, design and planning. Lead facilities master planning, and integrated strategic planning into annual budget processes. Innovated by collaborating with Drexel University in an application service provider (ASP) approach to deliver IT services, staffing and ERP systems. Following Cabrini, Stephen served as VP for Finance & Administration at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where his portfolio included finance, accounting, information technology, risk management, human resources, labor relations, dining services, facilities, public safety, housekeeping, retail operations and rentals.Stephen is currently the Vice President for Finance & Administration and Treasurer at LaSalle University, overseeing a broad portfolio of operations and activities. Completed doctorate in Higher Education Management, with research interests in leadership and inter-institutional collaboration.Respected for collaborative and transparent approach to leadership and experience in fostering institutional change focused on fiscal health and sustainability.
