I also had specific responsibility for clinical development in Asia-Pacific, including a team in Japan and Australia.

SPMSD was a joint venture between Sanofi Pasteur and Merck to develop and commercialise a wide range of vaccines and sera in a large part of Europe. As VP Development I was responsible for Clinical Development, Epidemiology, Regulatory, Quality, Pharmacovigilance, and Operational Excellence, including Study Operations, Project Management and Development Department Finance. The Department had a staff of around 150, in HQ and countries. Achievements during my tenure included marketing authorisations for Gardasil 9, Vaxelis and Vaxigrip Tetra, as well as a major departmental transformation programme.
