Mr. Lux is the owner and principal attorney at the Law office of Stephen Lux, located in San Diego, California. His practice is focused on sophisticated civil litigation in a wide range of matters, including but not limited to business disputes, insurance matters, real estate disputes, and professional liability (especially legal, accounting and insurance malpractice), insurance coverage and bad faith. Mr. Lux has spent his entire career as a civil litigation/trial attorney in Southern California. Before opening his own office in 2012, he worked for law firms in Los Angeles and San Diego on both the plaintiff and defense sides. Mr. Lux's first job out of law school in 1983 was with Bottum & Feliton, then the leading Los Angeles legal malpractice defense firm. Mr. Lux made partner and in 1990 was selected to open an office of Bottum & Feliton in San Diego, where he served as managing partner for several years. Thereafter, Mr. Lux then switched from insurance defense work to concentrate principally on representing plaintiffs, in a wide range of litigation areas, which he continues to do. His current practice is approximately 70/30% plaintiff to defense work. Mr.Lux is an aggressive, results oriented litigator. He takes pride not only in the good results, however, but also in his unblemished reputation for competence and integrity. In 30 years of practice Mr. Lux has never been subject to any complaint or State Bar discipline. He is an active member of the California and San Diego County Bar Associations and various other professional and civic organizations.
