Duties same as previous post with INEOS Grangemouth below, with the addition of Estimating and General Drawing Office Admin. A large portion of my time in this post involved the rationalisation of a substantial amount of P&ID’s essential to site operations.

Grangemouth

Initially I was contracted to Jacobs Engineering for this post. However INEOS took control of the Factory Drawing Office back in-house in November 2011.This role involves the timely and accurate update of critical Master Drawings to ensure they correspond to Close Out information produced by onsite designers i.e. Jacobs, BIS, ONDEO, as well as mark-ups produced by the various assets in Refining and Chemical areas of the site when routine maintenance has taken place.The work involves updating P&IDs as well as Electrical & Instrumentation diagrams, Cable Schedules and Drawing Indexes. This can be quite involved on the E&I side as updates to Masters can have consequences for changes on drawings not covered in the Project Dossier. This is when knowledge and understanding of the drawings and a diligent manner is required to look out for anything that could cause additional drawings to be affected. This ensures the integrity of the data held in the database.The work is done using AutoCAD. In addition to this a proficiency in the Content Management System (Alfresco) is required in order to locate the drawings affected and upload the revised versions once the work is complete, to be accessed by site wide personnel.

Dsm Dalry

Seconded by Booth Welsh to work at DSM Nutritional Products in Dalry to perform onsite surveys of Mechanical/Electrical Plant and associated Instrumentation and Pipework contained within the PowerHouse and other Utilities areas of the site.The aim of the role was to ensure that the P&ID's and corresponding Documentation were up to date, in order for Plant Maintenance Operations to be performed safely.The systems contained within the scope of the project include the Boilers, Water Treatment Plant, Chiller Systems, Nitrogen & Hydrogen Plants.Software used to revise the drawings was Bentley Microstation & PDS.

Initially employed to produce all relevant drawings for Cardiff All Wales PET Facility project.These included Control Panel General Arrangements, Internal Wiring, Power Distribution, Ethernet Network as well as Loop and Cable Block Diagrams.This has been done working closely with the Engineer on a one to one basis progressing the drawings from Approval to Construction Stage. Also involved in producing Instrumentation and Electrical Diagrams for various projects, for clients including British Energy, Diageo, GSK and Wood Group.

SPIE Mathew HallEmployed in Design office to assist in production of As Installed Drawings for East Dunbartonshire Schools Projects. These included Mechanical and Electrical General Arrangements as well Layouts for External Services and Boiler Plantrooms.

Employed onsite by Mechanical Contractor implementing the Mechanical Services installation for the New Victoria Hospital in Glasgow.A major part of the job involved surveys to monitor the progress of the ventilation installation.Weekly documentation was produced detailing the number of grilles fitted, any co-ordination problems and possible resolutions.This was issued to all parties involved on the project and was proved to be a valuable device throughout the job.Involved in all aspects relating to the production of As Builts, from site surveys through to the creation of the finished drawings for issue.Throughout the project I have been in communication with a variety of companies within the project team, from the Architect through to the Ventilation Contractor personnel and enjoyed a good relationship with all.

Post involved producing Mechanical & Electrical diagrams for engineers working on a variety of projects. Prioritising own workload and ensuring that work produced adhered to both company standards and client specifications.

Producing Mechanical and Electrical Diagrams for Building Services Design team working on a variety of UK projects.

Involved in revising the departmental web pages to ensure ease of future maintenance.This involved simplifying the coding behind the pages and in some cases recreating whole pages so that the appearance was improved while greatly reducing file sizes.I also had to address the accessibility aspect of the pages, as the original site design did not take this into account. All the work was done on Unix and Windows platforms.; July 04 University of Glasgow - Web Design Training Course

Produced Electrical Services drawings for Signal Box Refurbishments for various stations throughout the network. I was also involved in the production of drawings for the upgrade of platform lighting.

Producing all relevant diagrams for Trend B.M.S systems. This included Control Panel Wiring Diagrams and System Overviews. Also used Trend's System Engineering Tool (SET) software to produce Strategy Diagrams in connection with the Software Engineering side of the projects.

Site based post at SmithKline Beecham in Irvine. Produced Electrical/Instrumentation diagrams for refurbishment works throughout the factory.

This role involved creating Building Services drawings for Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health requirements.

Responsible for the production of preliminary, approval, and fabrication drawings for panel and field installed control components.
