Stephen began his career in Cooling Water R&D as an Assistant Research Scientist, working his way up the Research ladder to Senior Research Project Leader (6 Promotions) prior to making a commercial career change to that of Global Corporate Account Manager for the Air Products account for which he maintained GE Water as Sole Water Treatment vendor over the last 11+ years.Early in R&D, Stephen focused on Cooling technology for both closed and open recirculating cooling water systems (corrosion control, deposit control, microbiological control). He also closely aligned himself to GE Water's customer base and helped to identify commercial/tecnicial gaps to GE Water's current cooling treatment offering at that time. He then led cross-functional teams to develop alternative solutions for his customer base under laboratory conditions, trialed these under field conditions, globally, communicated results both internally (GE Water) and externally (Customers, Symposia, etc.) and helped gain proprietary patent status for those technologies which proved successful and where applicable.This technical background helped prepare him for his current role as Global Corporate Account Manager for Air Products where this client not only demanded a strong Commercial leader but one with a strong Technical background to lead both GE Water and APCI teams toward operational excellence.
