He not only depends on the expertise of Haley & Aldrich’s staff, he also draws on his own experiences from an extensive array of areas including strategic planning, engineering, organization design, Lean, safety, remediation, environmental compliance, facilities management, capital planning, construction and sustainability. He brings particularly strong Lean experience and is a pioneer in applying Lean principles to many areas outside of manufacturing. Steve brings strong expertise in Lean principles and tools, systems thinking, organization and process improvement, safety and environmental issues. As Haley and Aldrich’s Lean sensei, he successfully serves as strategist and technical advisor to our clients and internal staff to lead the learning and application of lean thinking. Steve has helped many clients understand, apply and achieve result from lean in many areas including sustainability programs, regulator advocacy, technology selection, site operations optimization, performance based contracting, safety improvement, asset management, climate action planning, permit applications, waste management systems and EHS programs. Steve has extensive experience teaching and applying lean principles and tools with clients who have no prior experience with lean. Steve also has proven success at strengthening teams, creating consensus, building partnerships and facilitating collaborative efforts to improve outcomes.
