Provide environmental science services with specialist capability in:- project management- aquaculture systems and design- GIS mapping and analysis- development approvals and licencing- environmental monitoring- website development.

• Provide technical expertise, including specialist ecological, wetland and aquatic environmental advice, for project delivery, including the implications of operational procedures on the management of the site ecological character.• Provide technical advice to influence and guide environmental decision making, ensuring best practice environmental management of the site, and improved plans or policies for the management of the site, including meeting of State and Commonwealth objectives for the guidance and rules around the management of water levels and barrage operations.• Provide technical advice for the design, planning, delivery and ongoing management of critical and complex environmental evaluation, investigation and policy.• Manage any consultancies required and reporting to the Commonwealth.• Utilise effective relationships and partnerships that educate and engage key stakeholders on critical and complex matters related to the site and its management, to support consultation activities (e.g. technical considerations for the Operational Considerations Paper and development of the Policy and Strategy).

Responsible for providing leadership and scientific expertise for complex and critical monitoring and evaluation projects associated with the CLLMM Program. Contributes to the delivery of specialist acid sulfate soil, wetland and aquatic environment plans, advice and activities to ensure the achievement of numerous environmental projects including Monitoring and Adaptive Management, Ecological Character Description, Research Priorities, Ruppia Translocation and Managing Acid Sulfate Soils.

Assist COOE provide environmental consulting services to clients across a diverse range of private and public sector industries. The duties include assisting senior COOE staff with mentoring and leadership responsibilities, manage client relations, project management, marketing and generating new business.

Development and management of policies under the Aquaculture Act, 2001 that contribute to the sustainable development of the SA aquaculture industry. Skills include policy writing and editing, interpreting environmental and planning legislation and regulations, and reviewing scientific literature. Interaction with State government agencies including: PIRSA, EPA, DEWNR, DPTI and SARDI Aquatic Sciences. Regular consultation with aquaculture industry individuals and key association members. Skills include negotiation, PowerPoint presentation development and delivery, and strategic community consultation.

Responsible for coordinating MISA related research activity by 30 senior marine research scientists. Maintaining strategic relationships between multiple partner research institutions including: University of Adelaide, Flinders University, South Australian Museum, SA Research & Development Institute. Extension and delivery of marine research outcomes to SA Seafood Industry. Management of administrative staff to Chief Scientist, SARDI Aquatic Sciences.

Design, implementation and evaluatiopn of environmental monitoring standards, reports and policies for a range of aquaculture industry sectors. Extensive consultation with seafood industry and liason with relevant government agencies. Thorough understanding of shellfish (intertidal and subtidal), finfish and SBT aquaculture practices and sectors. Extensive operation and deployment experience with Remotely Operated Vehicles (MantaRay TM) in remote areas, from small vessels and land-based. SSA, SCUBA and Coxswain experience in remote locations.

Revision and enhancement of existing aquaculture environmental monitoring programs (EMP’s) and the development of new EMP’s for the Aquafin Cooperative Research Centre. Discussion with relevant government agencies and industry sectors, establishment of new monitoring techniques, seeking ongoing funding for monitoring programs.

Assist and support Senior Scientists in field and diving operations for applied aquaculture research and development activities. Scientific diving and crewing experience on small (5 to 7 m) vessels in remote areas using SCUBA and SSA. Deploying and recording data underwater from transects tapes, quadrats, underwater video and photography. Field experience identifying common, southern temperate benthic flora and fauna.
