STAR Flight is a public safety rescue helicopter program that responds within Central Texas. Rescue Flight Paramedic/Crew Chief responsible for responding to medical emergencies, critical care interfacility transports, water rescues, technical rescues, law safety assists, fire suppression and search and rescue missions. Function as part of a three person crew consisting of a Registered Nurse, Pilot and Paramedic.

Participated in the development of State helicopter rescue programs. Deployed with TEEX as part of TTF-1 to numerous tropical storms, hurricane and flood events.

Austin-Travis County EMS is the sole provider for EMS in the 1400 square mile county, serving roughly 1.2 million citizens. Austin-Travis County EMS co-responds with several different members of the First Response network, including Austin Fire Department and many smaller paid and volunteer serves throughout the county. Responsible for guiding patient care in a variety of settings such as 911 emergency calls and hospital transfers. During my time as a paramedic on a ground unit in the system I also served as a Field Training Officer and a Rescue Training Officer. During that time I was responsible for assisting other paramedics in learning how to adapt their skills to fit into the Austin-Travis County EMS system.
