Responsible for driving the Accounting and Finance activities of the legal entity, ensuring compliance with all statutory legislation and regulations in the East African Region.

1. Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting• Preparation of budget templates for different functional areas and cost centers in liaison with local departments and HQ • Assisting with the preparation of budget analyses that support the business plan.• Responsible for managing the integrity and uploading of budgets into SAP BPC system• Analysis of key variances of actual budget spends versus agreed forecasts so as to establish the root causes of deviations and advise on corrective measures to be taken by reviewing these with the sales and marketing teams.2. Reporting-HQ and Local Management Reports• Lead in month end and year end closing processes. • Compile and circulate monthly financial reports to HQ finance and the Sales & Marketing teams.• Provide information on MTD & YTD Sales against Plan/Forecast to assist the Sales & Marketing teams in tracking their sales progress• Review of monthly financial package and providing commentary on Gross sales, net sales, net net sales and COGS per SKU• Controlling module and asset accounting modules lead in standard costing, internal orders processing and controlling closing and reporting.3. Financial Analysis and Review• Prepare monthly dashboard and circulate to the team on sales performance versus targets, secondary sales and gross margin at SKU level• Prepare a detailed analysis of the OPEX, CAPEX and Trade marketing/promotional expenses and provide commentaries for any variance• Analysis of the transportation expenses in collaboration with logistics to ensure costs minimization and tracking to the budget• Review marketing and sales promotional activities after doing cost benefit analysis and ensuring that ROI is acceptable4. Order to Cash (OTC), Procure to Pay (PTP) and Record to Report (RTR) transactional processing.5. Month end and Year end closing operations6. Finance and Controlling Business partnering 7. Audit compliance, Cash flow planning, Reconciliations, Taxes compliance, Accruals planning etc

Financial analysis and reporting• Preparation and presentation of the monthly P&L reporting to the management• Detailed analysis and comparative review of the company performance • Submission of the monthly commentary pack• Preparation of schedules and reports for management and audit purposes2. Budgeting and forecasting• Support monthly forecast and annual budget process by assisting with data analysis & reporting including but limited to Sales, Margin, Expense, Project Spending• Periodic variance analysis and review of Budget vs Actual3. Pricing structure & Transfer Pricing• Ownership of the pricing structure of the company and transfer pricing. • Track the landed cogs and ensure that they are reasonable while working very closely with the supply chain• Advise the business on all the possible price changes and ensure the sales department communicates the price changes to customers• Ensure price changes are updated in the SAP systems on timely basis and are correctly done to ensure correct billing of customers.4. Financial controllership and training• Year-end and Month-end closing and reporting activities (booking journal entries, accruals, processing allocations, reviewing departments pending against forecast, Profit Center Reporting, analysing and publishing month-end reporting).• Lead in Inventory Control and Logistics/Procurement activities: Procure to pay (PTP) and Order to cash (OTC), Record to report (RTR)• Customer credit management; carrying out dunning payment runs on SAP• Ownership of the General ledger Chart of Accounts and ensure correct G/L mapping on the system• Lead in identification, preparation and maintenance of the financial master data• Review and update General ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy• Timely processing and remittance of statutory taxes and other deductions• Support user community for all finance related queries in SAP ERP system and continuous end user training

• Conducting fundamental company & investment opportunity research and analysis, in Real Estate, Private Equity, Structured Products, Equities & Fixed Income• Financial modelling and data analysis• Analyzing historical and projected financial statements & investment data• Preparing written reports and verbal presentations• Conducting country, industry and capital markets research• Participating in the evaluation, formulation and implementation of investment strategies• Contributing in investment meetings and review sessions
