I am an associate in the real estate section in the firm’s Houston office. My practice involves representation of clients in matters related to real estate development, banking and general corporate matters. I represent lending institutions, institutional investors, real estate developers, homebuilders and others in the commercial real estate and banking industries, in connection with all aspects of real estate acquisition, leasing, financing, preparation and negotiation of ground leases, contracts, development agreements, construction financing and permanent financing documents. I also assist my business clients with corporate governance documents, commercial contracts and financial transactions to assist my clients’ in their business ventures.Prior to joining Coats Rose, I practiced for a regional law firm in Louisville, Kentucky, where I represented banks, commercial lenders, equity investors and borrowers on complex financial dealings, with an emphasis on real estate transactions and general corporate financing. In that role, I prepared and negotiated the varying transaction and credit documents to close complex commercial real estate financing, asset-based lending and project finance for development and construction loans, revolving credit lines and working capital needs. I also acted as outside general counsel to various clients, where he assisted with entity establishment, contract negotiation and other day-to-day matters.
