As a Data Analyst, I was responsible for collecting, distributing, and reporting the Enterprise Accounts Receivable data to the AR Collections and Recovery team. This brought me into close contact with database normalization methodology and with the complete life cycle management from user input through reporting and archiving. I was able to access many systems and learn much about large-scale data warehouses and the statistical and procedural languages that query them. As a Business Analyst for the Membership and Data Analysis Group, my primary duties include the timely receipt and posting of ANSI X12 834 enrollment files into D950 and analysis of the systematic process to provide streamlined and error-free enrollment data. Responsibilities also include research into ad hoc membership requests and back-reference to the 834 to provider detailed and timely responses. Initially in MDAG, I was responsible for the 837 encounter generation and accurate submission to the state of Texas. In this role, it was necessary that I review the X12 response files 997 and 277U and the proprietary file TA1 for error indications and resubmit the corrected encounter back to the state.Specific responsibilities and achievements include:Coordination with compliance, vendor network management, provider department, state officials, cost-containment, operations, upper-management, director-level guidance committees, project management office, and other Business Analysts to disseminate practices and procedures.Operated as the lead on several projects including, NPI testing and implementation, IT server migration, and BDS database error monitoring.Much experience in the use of Business Requirement Documents, Test Matrices, and Work Flows.Project Management experience in NPI implementation and data server migration.Creation of databases for a variety of Membership needs including production tracking, inventory tracking, and newborn record tracking for reporting to the state.Creation of file translators that convert X12 character delimited file formats into readable and easily reportable excel spreadsheets with hard-coded English descriptions and explanations of system codes.Creation of programs that search out specified strings in fixed width text files and return them in reportable format for analysis in other departments. As a Client Service Associate, my primary duties include the manual processing of Inpatient, Outpatient, and Professional, Medi-Cal claims on the Diamond 950 System and the WGS System. Responsibilities also include streamlining existing processes with SQL and Access databases.
