Freelance consultant/facilitator as well as an Associate Strategic Advisor with the Strategic Investment Board - SIB helps Government in Northern Ireland with investment planning and investment delivery. He has been with SIB since 2015 in support roles including:• the Executive Office (TEO) in delivery of its Urban Villages Initiative (good relations and urban regeneration); and strategic engagement on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls.• Department for Communities (DfC) and a Culture, Arts and Heritage Strategy Taskforce bringing forward recommendations to recalibrate ways these sectors are supported as key amplifiers of social, economic and environmental change. • Department of Education on inclusion/tackling educational disadvantage. • Other assignments have included facilitating Departmental leadership teams developing strategy; and supporting departments with stakeholder engagement on issues such as racial equality; victims & survivors; and improving collaboration between government and the voluntary/community sectors. He has a proven track record of working with government departments, local councils and arms-length bodies to forge cross-sectoral partnerships and secure investment for innovative delivery. He previously worked at Director/Assistant Secretary level in the NI Civil Service following policy, public affairs and business innovation roles in the higher education sector (Queen’s University Belfast) and with health and youth/social inclusion charities (Diabetes UK and the Prince’s Trust). He adheres to educationalist Sir Ken Robinson’s view that creativity can involve connecting things not previously or sufficiently connected. He also believes most work and life situations can be helped by a 1980s movie reference.
