Recently relocated to the Greater Portland, ME, area, Stephen McHale is a seasoned Architect, manager and leader with vast expertise in a diverse range of project types and sizes, and a focus on cultural, institutional and educational projects, with clients including The New York Public Library, The Aga Khan University, Harvard University, 92nd Street Y, and the Brooklyn Museum.He approaches commissions with a holistic perspective and with the highest level of design intention, while always remaining sensitive to the client’s budget and schedule. He pays meticulous attention to detail and navigates large-scale projects and complex technical issues with and award winning results. He also believes strongly in an Architect’s responsibility for the stewardship of culture, the built and natural environments, and the profession itself. A native of Ireland, Stephen’s international work experience includes the US, Canada, Europe, Africa and China.
