Responsible for the day-to-day running of the YBR Group Business reporting to the Executive Chairman, Mark Bouris.Direct responsibilities also included CFO, Company secretarial and strategic planning.

Reporting to the Executive Chairman, the position was responsible for the oversight of the back office functions of the YBR Group.The brief of the role was drive P&L improvements through the combination of strategic planning, driving initiatives to enable cost savings and challenge the revenue generating units to evolve practices and processes.

Reporting to the Executive Chairman, the role is responsible for the key operational areas of the YBR Group including: Loan Processing, Customer Service, Marketing, Product, Commissions and Broker Lifecycle.

Responsible for key broker service functions including Commissions, Broker Lifecycle and Wealth Operations.The brief for the role was to transform processes to achieve a combination of improved services to Brokers and Advisors and deliver efficiency gains for the business.

During my time at Aussie, the organisation rapidly grew from 450 brokers and 15 stores with $7bn in home loan settlements to 1,100 brokers, 220 stores and $20bn in settlements. In addition, Aussie transitioned from a private entity to ownership by Australia’s largest listed company. The general brief for my roles at Aussie was to significantly revamp teams, processes and systems to enable the significant growth and change for the organisation.The Head of Broker and Customer Services role was responsible for the provision of industry leading support and systems to the 1,100 Aussie Brokers and 220 Stores including broker remuneration, broker contact centre, customer contact centre, sales system administration and broker lifecycle processing.Key deliverables in the role have included the digital transformation of the broker support model utilising Salesforce, the roll-out of a value add Online Community and successfully implementing a new improved commissions system.A highlight also has been the successful insourcing of Aussie’s Customer Contact Centre, which has led to improved customer NPS as well as generating efficiencies for the business

Leading the Sales Operations and Support functions with a brief to work with the Sales Director to improve Sales performance. Key responsibilities included the Aussie Panel Lender relationships, sales systems and support, sales compliance and sales budgeting and forecastingKey deliverables included the roll-out of requirements to address the new National Credit Code (NCC) legislation, roll-out of the new Sales System to Aussie’s Mortgage brokers, implementing strategies to increase sales and representing Aussie on the MFAA’s National Broker Committee.

This role was responsible for the management accounting, financial accounting and decision support functions within Aussie with a focus on business partnering and commercial acumen.Key achievements included heavy involvement in M&A activities including CBA’s share acquisition (twice) and the successful Wizard acquisitionOther achievements included revamps to management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and other finance processes.

The role reported the Liquidators, Tony McGrath and Chris Honey with the appointment occurring post-liquidation.The role brief was to significantly revamp the finance team, reengineer finance, tax and treasury processes and introduce a reporting framework which addressed the requirements of management, the Liquidators and external stakeholders. This activity was required to reflect the need for the Estate to operate for a further 10 plus years.Key achievements included:- Restructured the cash and investment portfolio to increase returns (estimated increase of $2.8 million per annum) and reduce risk to appropriate levels for the Estate- Implemented a reporting framework including treasury reports, statements of financial position and cash flow forecasts- Successful negotiation of the Estate’s pre-liquidation GST position with the Australian Taxation Office- Implementation of Version 1 of the Global Dividend Payment project which will enable the calculation of dividends and payment in numerous foreign currencies and locations - Preparation of various reports of a technical nature to support the Liquidators litigation program (including the reconstruction of accounts and accounting treatment of complex reinsurance contracts)
