Data Systems Manager
Austar Entertainment is a regional subscription TV business supporting in excess of 700 000 subscribers across satellite, mobile telephony and internet services.In this role I held direct responsibility for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and operation of much of the hardware and software infrastructure supporting the call centre, billing and broadcast operations. This also encompassed vendor relationship and contract management, strategic planning of infrastructure requirements and roadmaps as well as capacity planning and budgeting. I was directly responsible for managing a team of systems engineers and technicians in a 24 X 7 ITIL compliant environment with extremely tight service level agreements for very high systems availability across multiple sites including a Disaster Recovery framework.
