I am an experienced specialist trial and appellate advocate, practising in public law (administrative and constitutional), medical law, professional disciplinary matters for regulators and professionals, equity, professional negligence and medical negligence. I possess a particular speciality in the regulation of the medical profession at both a State and Commonwealth level.I represent Government, individuals, large corporations, insurance companies, not for profits, the dispossessed and the rich. I am instructed by all ranges of law firms - from the largest to the smallest, in the Capital cities and the country, directly by corporate counsel and directly by commercial entities.I have both an advice and appearance practice and can bring value to the delivery of legal services in a timely and cost effective way. I Chair the Medicare Participation Review Committee (Cth),which is a statutory office granted by ministerial appointment under the Health Insurance Act (Cth) 1973, and in that role I determine medical practitioners' rights to practise with Medicare funding.I am a member of the Administrative Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia and the past President of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law and also the Medico Legal Society of Victoria. I am a former member of the Ethics Committee of the Alfred Hospital (Vic) and Professional Conduct Committee of the Victorian Bar. Away from the Bar I Chair a major school Board, I have various roles in the development of Child Safety and I am and have been involved in a number of ways in the sport of swimming, both as a Technical Official and in the governance of the sport of swimming, at a State and Club level.
