Program Manager for Simulation and Training at Eclipse Aviation Responsible for managing all aspects of the flight simulator trainer program for the EA500 Very Light Jet to include simulator specifications, requirements, schedules, subcontracts, budgets, delivery, acceptance and certification of the trainers with the FAA National Simulator Program. Responsible for coordination and delivery of data from cross-functional disciplines to include flight test, aero, avionics, mechanical design data to simulator subcontractors for simulator product and training syllabus development. The program is highly successful and resulted in FAA Full Flight Level D certification allowing students to achieve a full EA500 type rating in the simulator including the final check ride.

Subcontract for USAF Systems Program Office supporting Airborne Laser Program (ABL) Responsible for System Safety on ABL for the System Program Office (SPO). Conduct safety analysis and System Hazard Analysis (SHA) of the ABL design including hardware and software as implemented in the integrated configuration. Work with the teamed contractors (Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Airforce Research Labs) to prepare, organize, and conduct Program Environmental Safety Health Working Group (PESHWG) meetings prior to each major test event. The PESHWG reviews the design, determines residual risk of the hazards to be included in the Safety Assessment Report (SAR). Participate in Technical Coordination Panel meetings (TCP), Product Development Review Board (PDRB), System Operation Readiness Reviews (SORR’s), Test Operation Readiness Reviews (TORR’s), Mission Readiness Reviews (MRR’s) and System Readiness Reviews (SRR) all conducted at the Integrated Test Facility (ITF) at Edwards AFB.

Subcontract for United Defense (UDLP) supporting the Crusader Program, Minneapolis MNPerform detailed analysis of the Crusader integrated hardware and software design to ensure compliance with design requirements and safe operation of the delivered vehicle. Use Systems Event and Messaging (SEAM) process to evaluate the Unified Modeling Language (UML) implementation, examining sequence of timing execution in the multi-threaded environment. Lead timeline analysis of the overall objective system to insure compliance with timing requirements, including breakdown of hardware constraints and timing allocation to software Product Development Teams (PDT). Define synchronization points that can be measured for budgets, for the hardware control loops, for the hardware/software integration, and ultimately for the delivered system.

Responsible for the technical leadership and oversight of multiple integration and upgrade projects on the flight simulations at the Special Operations Training Center at Kirtland AFB, NM. Coordinate schedule, financial, performance and quality issues for multi-discipline development and delivery teams. Lead internal and subcontracted engineering activities on complex systems development efforts throughout all contract phases. Coordinate all program activities with local contract and customer support functions.

Direct systems engineering team and subcontractors at the Training Systems Support Center in the 58th Special Operations Simulation Training Center, Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM. Coordination of program initiatives in support of real-time digital product development, integration, test, and life-cycle support. Close coordination with government customer as well as subcontracted support organizations. Work with program management and business development to support proposal activities.

Performed Systems Engineering functions for the 58th Training Rehearsal Support Systems facilities at Kirtland AFB, NM. Continuous improvement, design, integration and test activities.

Supported the installation and maintenance of GE’s CompuScene Image Generators. Based mainly out of Lockheed’s Kelly Johnson Research and Development Center in Valencia, CA for the initial test phases of the YF22 development efforts. Also supported multiple sites as needed in the West.
