Recruited as General Manager to turn around a failing business unit, with full responsibility for all aspects of the business.The business carries out electrical engineering, maintenance and contracting operations for varying clients which includes; • High Voltage installations and maintenance (we control, operate & maintain private client networks up to and including 33kV, including wind farms)• Utilities (supply and generation grid connections). We are accredited under the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS), and have the in-house capability to design, install, test and commission electrical utility connections for adoption by the local DNO’s & IDNO’s.• Measured Term Contracts and general electrical LV installation works.• We are also accredited under Achilles Link-up supplier qualification scheme for UK Rail works.

Area Manager with full responsibility for a building services business within the Scotland region.BBES, formerly Balfour Kilpatrick, was a separate operating company within the Balfour Beatty Group.The business had various departments including estimating, commercial, procurement, operations etc. with turnover circa £20m.This involved mostly medium to large scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations in varying types of buildings.Work winning, promoting health and safety, the use of innovation and business improvement through strategies were other key aspects of my role.
