Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.I am currently taking a lead in the Development Transport / Traffic Planning team within the north of England, assisting the Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle offices. I have produced Transport Assessments for a variety of developments and this has included not just the highway capacity issues but also an assessment of the accessibility of the development and its ability to attract non car modes of travel.I have undertaken numerous periods of secondment within Highways England, working in the North East and Yorkshire and Humber Network Strategy teams reviewing the impact of planning applications on the strategic highway network, with the most recent period acting as the Patch manager for South and East Yorkshire.My project experience relates to the preparation of Transport Assessments, Environmental Assessment Chapters and Travel Plans in support of numerous types of development including residential, power, mixed use and industrial. As part of this work I have had considerable experience of traffic modelling software including PICADY, ARACDY, LINSIG and TRANSYT.More recent examples include the preparation of the ES Chapter for the National Grid Viking Link project and support to Highways England in reviewing planning applications. Management of a small design team of Engineers and Technicians with responsibility for workload and checking of work undertaken.Specialties: Transport and Traffic studies in support of all types of development.
