Appointed by Governor Martin O'Malley in 2009 to a Five year term

As President of Nolan, Plumhoff & Williams, Chartered from 1989 until 2003, I worked within a law firm comprised of exceptional lawyers and professional staff dedicated to client service and excellence in the practice of law. I decided to start a Litigation boutique practice in 2003 solely as a result of my desire to tackle new challenges working with clients and as a national Board member with the American Lung Association.

As National Board Chair of the American Lung Association in 2008 and 2009, I led a mission-focused Board of volunteers and an extraordinary team of professional staff - all working together to save lives by fighting lung disease and promoting lung health. I had the opportunity to travel the country and see the ALA's nationwide work, all of which was made possible by the $150 million in annual revenues contributed by committed donors and other supporters. I also was privileged to represent the ALA on the Board of the American Thoracic Society and at international lung health meetings in Europe. In June 2009, I was honored to join the presidents of the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, Tobacco Free Kids and other partners in the White House Rose Garden as President Obama signed historic Tobacco Control and Smoking Prevention legislation into law.
