In-charge, Water and Water Treatment Plant This is a function of the Mars’ Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department, reporting to HSE and Maintenance manager, my accountabilities included:Steer and direct the operations and maintenance of the waste water treatment plant with a capacity of 120CBM per day and six plant operators at the Dubai site as well as overseeing domestic water system and usage on site and driving efficiencies.Establish operational procedures, health and safety standards and implementation of process improvements through lean and continuous improvements, ensuring operational excellence and compliance to the Mars’ cooperate standards as well as Dubai Municipality legal requirements.Driving prudent and efficient management of resources (Financial annual plant budget of $600k) and ensuring best value for money.Accountable for all Dubai Municipality and the Environment Health and Safety Department permits and No Objection Certificates for water and other hazardous and general wastes disposal.Achievements: Trained, developed, led and motivated a team of six plant operators over a period of 2 years in Wastewater treatment plant operations. Through Kaizen,I initiated and implemented re-use of treated water process on site in 2016 that led to a saving of 30 CBM of water per day( $40K/year) Through Kaizen process, I Initiated and implemented changes in flocculants chemicals in waste water treatment which was our single highest expense and achieved an annual reduction of $75k, in the process I won the Mars’ global star award. Supported engineering team of the Mars Wrigley Saudi Arabia site in WWTP commissioning, process validation and training of operators

Driving the health and safety across the factory with key responsibility of training of production teams,contractors and visitors on SSWs,PTW,LOTO and emergency procedures,conducting induction for new employees and visitors and ensuring adherence to the high safety standards of Mars global as well as best industry practices. Steering the near miss reporting system,fire safety,hazard identification and risk assessment,periodic safety inspections and audits. I strive in driving a positive health and safety culture within the site that has lead to over 2000 days without lost time incident.

 Driving and directing production operations on assigned lines ensuring planned volumes of different SKUs are achieved within set timelines and right first time (RFT). Leading, developing and motivating up to 10 plant operators and up to 30 process and packaging contractors on shift basis. Steering safety culture across the shop floor by conducting tool box talks, drive compliance to SSW, PTW, LOTO, and emergency procedures. Training and motivating operators and contractors on safe systems of work (SSWs) and ensuring all validations are up to date. Driving continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN tools (kaizen/PDCA) across the factory that lead to enhanced cost efficiency, reliability, energy savings, waste reduction and safety/GHP/GMP performance, ensuring food safety standards are achieved and maintained e.g. GHP, GMP and HCCP. Assigned to engineering department support new projects installations and commissioning of Bar line 1 (2009) and Bar line 2 (2014).Conducted FAT(factory acceptance test) in Europe for our various equipment suppliers during this time.
