Experienced in psychiatric, psychological, neuropsychological research, and working in clinical trials. Expert at administering diagnostic instruments such as the SCID, SADS, PANSS and the Hamilton Scales.

Coordinated a federally funded grant to assess treatment efficacy among participants in the Queens Misdemeanor Treatment Court. Maintained databases, analyzed data, and wrote reports that reflected study findings. Trained staff in data management, programming and semi-structured interviewing using the Questionnaire Design Studio (QDS). Participated in budget decisions and protocol modifications.

Coordinated a statewide household survey study that assessed the psychological, emotional, financial, and overall impact of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 on the people of New York State. Interviewed, hired, trained and supervised interviewers for semi-structured interviewing detailing various aspects of respondents' lives, including but not limited to existence and level of psychopathology; drinking and drug use behaviors in response to trauma; use of available services; and a range of other variables relevant to capturing data that assessed changes in functioning as a result of the terrorist attacks. Trained and supervised staff responsible for supervising interviewers. Evaluated training needs and implemented appropriate protocols and procedures. Developed research protocols, delegated administrative and research responsibilities, and developed topics for future research and funding of current and future programs. Analyzed data and wrotereports that reflected study findings.

Trained and supervised interviewers using the SSAGA, a comprehensive semi-structured clinical interview based in part on the Semi-structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV (SCID) and the Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia (SADS). Trained interviewers in psychopathology, differential diagnosis, and clinical interviewing strategies for adults, adolescents and children. Trained prospective interviewers and administered all current versions of the Semi-structured Clinical Interview for DSM [SCID] in a community study aimed at capturing the prevalence of alcohol and substance abuse disorders and checking the DSM-III's reliability in assessing these and other Axis-I disorders. Submitted narrative summaries for each subject's life story, emphasizing episodes of psychological distress; framing the subject's psychopathology within the context of each individual's unique life experiences; and arguing differential diagnoses (where applicable).
