Responsible for valuing and structuring long-term fixed load shape, partial and full requirements service agreements, backstand, peaking, instantaneous and other option-type power supply deals such as put, call and heat rate. Including valuing and providing recommendations to manage recovery risks associated with cost allocation risks and rate case timing.-- Structured long-term power supply agreement producing $6 billion in revenue and $1.6 billion in EBIT.-- Structured synthetic portfolio of resources to emulate a system for service to customers external to the Duke Energy Carolinas Balancing Area Athority, including a coal block, intermediate cycling resource, peaking and balancing to create an attractive product for the counterparty and mitigate risks to Duke.-- Structured backstand agreement to recover eroded revenues and produce upside EBIT opportunity of $2 million per year.Assist in maintaining and employing a formula rate for system average energy and demand cost allocation and pricing for requirements wholesale customers.Evaluate power purchase agreements and physical plant acquisition, including nuclear, combined cycle, combustion turbine and a variety of renewable energy resources including wind, solar, poultry, swine and land-fill gas.-- Structured power purchase agreements employing option analysis techniques to save ratepayers $40 million in purchase power costs.-- Evaluated wheeled wind opportunities and drove costs down of contracted supply by 20%.Employed Planning and Risk (PAR) and PROSYM production cost models in evaluation of power supply agreements and power plant valuation. Familiar with the LIM/MIMIC data aggregator software for market valuation.
