Responsible for structured testing, building and implementing elements throughout the entire project lifecycle, utilising mainframe skills such as CA7 Scheduling, DB2, JCL, JES2 etc.Key Responsibilities:• Project Analysis and extraction of key information of a project using the provided documentation and ensure that from a Batch perspective the goals of the project are met.• Liaise with the project and other technical teams where efficiencies can be made to reduce budgets and also provide a strong link between them where technologies or processes are not understood.• Feed back any risk to the project when issues have been identified and ensure that they are escalated correctly.• Ensure that provided project elements conformed to company standards and pass onto. the project so that their UNIT/SYSTEM testing could commence.• Create job flow documents, when required.• Promote elements into the production environment and provide support with the ability to resolve any relevant issues that occurred.• Co-Running of the Batch Insurance Team across 2 geographical locations.• Provide Mentoring - Collaborating for success on a global level.• Provided Training to off shore colleagues in the processes and procedures of my employer.• Co-ordinated social events for the department.• Organised and chaired fortnightly meetings for colleagues within the Batch Services and DBA’s departments in London & Edinburgh to provide assistance locating new employment and also arrange for Managers and Human Resource colleagues to answer any pertinent questions.
