Participate in steering committee meetings to develop the 6th Asia Pacific Screen Forum event, scheduled for Oct 30- Nov 3 on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Over four days local filmmakers, APSA Award nominees, and international delegates will connect through a series of roundtable discussions, networking events, workshops, and screenings. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and learn from a range of speakers from across the region through a dynamic program that supports Australian film practitioners to engage with pertinent industry issues, connecting the national industry with the global conversation. The Forum features in-conversations, workshops, panel discussions, and intimate roundtables with a public program of screenings and Q&As. A unique program for the industry, encouraging relationship building networking opportunities, as well as cultural and knowledge exchange both from within Australia and across the Asia Pacific.

Stephen manages all communications, public relations and educational outreach projects, with the objective of promoting and protecting the commercial and creative interests of the MPA’s represented studios and Asia’s screen communities. The MPA Studios include: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Netflix Inc., Paramount Pictures Corporation, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Universal City Studios LLC, and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

As Regional Director of Strategic Communications & Third Party Outreach, Stephen oversees all communications, public relations and educational outreach projects for the organisation, with the objective of promoting and protecting the commercial and creative interests of the MPA’s member companies’ studios* and Asia’s screen communities in the digital age.Prior to his role with the MPA, Stephen worked as a consultant to the screen industry in the Asia Pacific region, acting as Special Projects Consultant to the Motion Picture Association (MPA) Asia Pacific; Communications and Public Relations Advisor for the Australian Federation Against Copyright Theft (AFACT); and Public Relations Advisor for the Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation (IPAF).Stephen has worked for large global media organisations in the roles of Manager, Strategic Products & Services, APAC, for Getty Images Ltd; and Manager, Asia Pacific for image.net Ltd, the UK-based online global media content management service for the U.S. major studios and international independent distributors.Stephen won the Australian Film Institute (AFI) Byron Kennedy Award in 2000 for establishing Inside Film Magazine and the Inside Film Awards. As Manager Asia Pacific, Stephen was charged with managing a client base of major U.S. Studios and independent distributors ensuring that new release film publicity material was delivered and promoted to media in the Asia Pacific.

Inside Film Magazine is a trade publication serving the screen community in Australia. In 1999, Stephen created the Inside Film Awards with business partner David Barda. The Inside Film Awards rewarded the best of Australian film as voted by Australian audiences. In 2000, Stephen was awarded the Australian Film Institute Byron Kennedy Award.
