Allowed for the determination of site’s hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity, specific storage, etc.• Utilized x-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology to delineate arsenic and chromium contamination at wood treating facilities. Additionally utilized XRF technology to guide remedial excavations of metal contaminated sites and to assess for the presence of lead-based paint during environmental investigations.• Assisted in the design and implementation of in-situ remediation projects. These included injection projects utilizing Fenton’s reagent, oxygen releasing compounds, and soy-based remedial technologies. Additionally included in-situ soil stabilization projects.
Project Geologist
• Developed Sampling and Analysis Plans (now Field Sampling Plans) for USEPA Brownfield Assessment Grant projects.• Conducted environmental field investigations of soil, groundwater and soil vapor to determine site environmental quality. Included oversight of drilling projects utilizing multiple drilling technologies, including direct push technology, hollow stem auger, air rotary, mud rotary, and sonic.• Performed environmental media sampling of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, sub-slab, and indoor air sampling. Proficient in multiple groundwater sampling methods, including low-flow and volumetric sampling techniques.• Conducted geotechnical investigations related to site development. Tasks performed included drilling oversight, SPT testing, lithologic logging, rock coring, Shelby tube sampling, and sample collection.• Experience with many different types of environmental sites, including steel mills, manufactured gas plants, wood treating facilities, dry cleaning facilities, gas stations, landfills, and general industrial sites.
Hydrogeologist
• Conducted and/or assisted senior personnel with environmental field investigations at multiple manufactured gas plant sites in Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgina and hazardous waste incineration facilities.• Oversaw and directed drilling projects involving soil sampling, groundwater monitoring well installation, lithologic logging, and environmental field screening.• Assisted with the field logging and installation of deep, water production and observation wells in Richland County, South Carolina. Assisted with the ISCO design and implementation, which involved identification of impacted intervals, injector installation, overseeing injection with real time monitoring to assess appropriate injection rates, and data analyses to assess remediation effectiveness.
