My duties include the fitting of electrical components onto backplates and into enclosures as well as preparing enclosures to receive components such as lamps, switches and meters. I also carry out the wiring of control panels and LV switchgear to a high standard and in accordance with the relevant schematic diagrams and BS EN61439 as well as our own internal company quality standards, I am also involved with the on site installation of switchgear and MCCs.My other duties include liaising with and advising Electrical Design Engineers and management to ensure that any technical problems that are encountered on a job are resolved in an efficient and timely manner.I am also involved in training and supervising our growing team of Apprentices on the Shop Floor, teaching them the high standard of craftsmanship that is expected of a Wireman.

My duties included the assembly of both conventional through hole and surface mount circuit boards for a range of products using both hand soldering methods and wave flow soldering including the Flamefast GasGuard which is an electronic gas safety shut off system designed for commercial kitchens and other locations where there are gas appliances present, I also assembled circuit boards for ATG across their UV, Access and Airports business sectors, I was also involved with the manufacture and testing of desktop antennas for the Intellident RFID stock control system.
