I pursued further education, earning an HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an HTC Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, and ultimately attaining CIBSE Membership exams leading to Chartered Engineer registration with the esteemed Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).Before establishing my own consultancy, I gained invaluable experience as an Engineer for the NHS. This role deepened my understanding of the complexities involved in large-scale projects and instilled in me a profound appreciation for precision, safety, and adherence to regulations within the healthcare sector.In 1989, fuelled by a desire to see more ethical working practices from Building Services consultancies, I founded Pettit Singleton Associates. From modest beginnings, we have since grown into a formidable team comprising of highly skilled mechanical and electrical engineers, compliance engineers, CAD/Revit technicians, energy/sustainability specialists, clerk of works and project managers as well as dedicated administrative personnel, all united by a shared commitment to excellence. Throughout my career, I have had the honour of working on a diverse range of projects, from new builds to refurbishments, forging lasting partnerships with clients who have entrusted us with their visions. I take immense pride in the numerous building service engineers that have been trained and mentored during my career. At PSA, I made it my mission to prioritize learning and development within the company. This involved developing the next generation through both mentoring students during their degree apprenticeships and by providing ongoing internal training to allow that learning into practice on real-life projects.While my expertise lies primarily in electrical engineering, I have cultivated a deep understanding of both mechanical and electrical disciplines through my years of varied experiences.
