As as literary agent and producer of theater and film, Stephen Pevner has helped foster the careers of some of the most culturally relevant writers of his generation including Neil LaBute, Eve Ensler, Richard Linklater, Greg Araki, Todd Solonz, Mary Gaitskill (SECRETARY), Mindy Kaling (THE MINDY PROJECT) and Beau Willimon (HOUSE OF CARDS). In 2013, Pevner produced the Off-Broadway sensation, Company XIV's NUTCRACKER ROUGE nominated for two Drama Desk Awards including UNIQUE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE. Other theater productions include MATT & BEN (Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers); BASH (Neil LaBute) which was filmed for Showtime and CALIGULA MAXIMUS feat. Kayvon Zand. THE IDES OF MARCH (2011) found him serving as Executive Producer on the film directed by George Clooney and starring Ryan Gosling. The film has was nominated for an Academy Award, four Golden Globes, a Producers Guild Award for Best Picture and recognized as one of the Top 10 Films of the Year by the National Board of Review. Pevner produced the premiere productions of Eve Ensler’s THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES which went on to win a 1996 Obie Award before being hailed as an international cultural phenomenon. Shortly thereafter he produced Neil LaBute's first feature, IN THE COMPANY OF MEN, winner of the Filmmakers’ Trophy at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. He subsequently served as Executive Producer of LaBute’s films, YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS, NURSE BETTY and POSSESSION.Pevner is the impresario behind THE SAINT AT LARGE, New York City’s longest-running and largest underground dance parties. The company's signature event, THE BLACK PARTY, is world renown for its unparalleled integration of theater, production design, state-of the art lighting and cutting-edge DJ's. It has produced the New York concert debuts of Jennifer Hudson (2006) and Róisín Murphy (2008) as well as a series of short films and art installations. In 2013, it purchased Chez Priape, Montreal's #1 fetish fashion emporium.
