• Coordinate and deliver CFR49 Parts 209, 218, 228, 229, 232, 236 and 238 regulatory compliance training and recertification classes. This includes managing nine different locations to maintain over 800 certifications.
• Routinely track and record training records in Amtrak’s Learning Center (ALC)
• Manage all personal travel arrangements and expense reports characterized by the greatest cost savings to our company
• Unite fellow Technical Trainers to discuss revisions to procedures or materials in order to deliver standardized, relevant and accurate training across all facilities

• Carry out daily and periodic inspection and maintenance on Amtrak’s diesel locomotive fleet
• Identify and correct FRA condemnable defects in accordance with CFR49 Parts 229, 232 and 238.
• Troubleshoot locomotive operational failures to identify root cause
• Maintain and operate Amtrak’s ultrasonic testing machine on railroad wheels and axles
• Organize the design and implementation of Amtrak’s private car axle ultrasonic inspection procedure in accordance with AAR G-II and Amtrak standards
• Oversee the operation, maintenance and training of wheel true operations as a Quality Assurance Designee

• Service and operate automotive engine rebuilding equipment including vertical milling machine, lathe, valve seat and guide machine, bore/honing equipment, welder and acetylene torch
• Disassemble and clean high-performance engines
• Inspect and test for operational engine failures
• Use multiple types of precision measuring instruments including: micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges and dial indicators
