CurrentCurrent:Conceptualizer, architect and technical lead for ORBCOMM's next generation global OGX (IoT) satellite service (key service improvements include 50% higher efficiency, 8x lower power operation and 40x faster/larger data). >Responsibilities (partial list) include designing, defining and documenting specifications (including physical layer, network layer, modem hardware, type approval), coordinating the implementation across multiple inter-disciplinary internal/external teams, and managing multi-million dollars contracts.Technical authority for existing 500k+ subscriber global IDP satellite network. >Responsibilities include capacity analysis and traffic control, network expansion, deployment, troubleshooting and remediation, terminal design and type approval.Past:Architect, technical lead and product manager for a $10M mixed signal ASIC projectSystem architect for the associated ASIC-based satellite terminal>Responsibilities included designing both the ASIC (a full-duplex direct upconversion, low-IF downconversion L-band (1.5-1.6GHz) transceiver with significant configurability to allow for a large range of narrow-band signals (BPSK to 64QAM, 2kHz to 200kHz bandwidths)) and the complete modem architecture to required performance specifications, designing and vetting the digital algorithms being developed on the silicon in MATLAB, vetting the RF architecture and performance, establishing production level test requirements, developing hardware and software test infrastructure and providing ongoing technical guidance to the engineering team during the ASIC implementation stage of modem development.
