Throughout the academic year, our PIs and… Show more BC’s - Morrissey College Service Center:Our service center model offers research-specific administrative services to University faculty, staff and Principal Investigators (PI's) within the Boston College academic and administrative community.Here, at the Service Center, we support over 500 faculty members and 100 (PI's) across 22 academic departments in the administration of highly sought after and competitive research funding opportunities. Throughout the academic year, our PIs and faculty actively identify, write and submit funding proposals to a broad array of outside sponsors including Federal, state, foundations, industry, commercial, as well as private donors. Typically, our service center starts the grant application process by assisting with the interpretation of each individual sponsor's proposal guidelines and requirements.General Responsibilities: Pre- and Post-awardAs Senior Fiscal & Grant Administrator, I, along with other team members, provide administrative and technical assistance to our faculty in their steady pursuit of external research dollars. Collectively, we assist with both pre-award and post-award assistance including proposal set-up and review, budget development and review, award actions, budget transfers as well as processing routine payment vouchers, expense report reviews, reconciliations and submissions and finally, award close-outs.ComplianceThink of it this way - receiving funding dollars always come with lots of so-called 'strings attached'. Those strings are the funder's ‘terms and conditions', or their 'policies and procedures' for accepting their much appreciated financial assistance. My task as Fiscal and Grant administrator is to provide assurances that all mandated compliance regulations and award 'terms' are met fully and completed and recorded in a timely manner. Show less
