Stephen Roy Gallagher is a professional firefighter and master electrician. He started his fire service career at Washington NH volunteer fire department as a 16 year old front line firefighter. Stephen then moved to Dover NH and served as an on call member. October 1993, Stephen started employment as a career firefighter with City of Portsmouth, NH. Stephen is a firefighter / EMT at the rank of Engineer. Stephen is an active member of I.A.F.F. Local 1313. Stephen is a Firefighter III, Wild-land, Marine Certified Firefighter, and holds Certificates as Fire Inspector II, Hazardous Materials Technician, Company Officer II and Instructor III. Stephen has been a State Fire Instructor since July 1997 and a staff Instructor at the NH Fire Academy, first hired in October of 2000. December of 2012 Stephen was hired as the program coordinator to oversee the Inspector I and II curriculum. In the short time in this position, Stephen completely revised and updated the program and achieved Pro Board Accreditation. Stephen had responsibilities including curriculum review, development, testing as well as managing, scheduling and coordinating twenty to thirty Instructors. Stephen spent many years teaching Firefighter I & II curriculum, EVDT, Driver Operator, Hazardous materials awareness and operations. Stephen resigned in June of 2016 to focus on completing his Masters Degree, ramping up his electrical business and started working as an adjunct professor at Lakes Region Community College. Stephen is looking forward to exploring employment opportunities in the south, as an Emergency Manager, Fire Investigator, or Fire Inspector working in the private or public sector.
