About Stephen Rector

I am a retail executive who has extensive experience leading teams and creating merchandise, sourcing, supply chain and new business development strategies across a variety of channels. From currently leading a team consistently achieve sales quota goals to working in a startup environment in Asia, my work has yielded accelerated growth for digital and physical retail models as diverse as Alibaba's Tmall, Macys Inc & Michael Kors. I have enjoyed being a thought leader in the retail space including being a guest on Bloomberg TV’s Daybreak Asia & Daybreak Australia discussing ecommerce & digital trends from both a Chinese and American perspective, interviewed by Yahoo Finance, Digiday & Reuters and featured in Forbes. I have also been a member of the RetailWire Braintrust, an industry leading group of thought leaders. To further understand the importance of data being an intergral part of decision making in all industries, I was certified from the UC-Berkeley School of Information in Data Science Essentials and Data Science Management. Prior to my current sales/customer success role, I have developed the direct to consumer channel for an international licensing agency and helped establish Macy’s merchandise strategy and supply chain in China, creating a multimillion dollar international expansion business for the iconic American retailer and department store chain. Prior to Macy’s China, I led women’s merchandising for fast fashion retailer Rue21 and served in leadership positions at Macy’s Inc. in New York City. My expertise and international business network spans across North America and Asia, helping companies build efficient global supply chains for fast fashion, navigate international customs for import & export, establish fashion & trend centers of excellence, recruit and develop talent, and deploy merchandise planning and forecasting tools.
