In preparation for the safe employment and operation of 18 aircraft and 233 soldiers in a hostile war zone, I led a project team in preparation for a multi-state National Guard deployment to Kosovo. This entailed the harmonization of training, logistics, maintenance, and leadership toward a combined goal of entering theater on time and with a fully capable aviation task force. Once in theater, I was in charge of a 24/7 aviation tactical operations center for 7 straight months. The aviation task force flew over 2,500 accident free hours and responded to multiple real world contingencies without a single aircraft or personnel loss.
