In December 2023, I founded The Ritchie Law Firm PLLC, which is a boutique criminal defense firm in Everett, Washington specializing in complex and serious felony cases in State and Federal Court. I am appointed by the federal judges for the Western District of Washington to serve on the CJA panel. Prior to founding The Ritchie Law Firm, I was a senior criminal litigation associate with the Mazzone Law Firm, defending criminal cases in state and federal court. I was previously a staff attorney with the Snohomish County Public Defender Association, where I practiced in several areas, including: 71.09 unit (sexually violent predator civil commitments), felony trial unit (where I handled adult felony cases at all stages of litigation), juvenile and district courts. I have also supervised Rule 9 interns and handled RALJ appeals. Before starting at SCPDA I was a law clerk for the Honorable David A Kurtz at Snohomish County Superior Court. I also served on the Snohomish County Bar Association Board of Trustees.Prior to moving to Seattle, I served as a litigation associate at a boutique firm specializing in federal criminal defense in New York City. At this position, I gained significant experience defending individuals at all stages of complex federal prosecutions in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.During my last year of law school, I worked as a student-practice clinician at the New York County Legal Aid Society. There, I was paired with a mentor attorney and managed my own misdemeanor case load under his supervision. Further, I second-chaired several felony trials, including pretrial hearings.
