The Command and Executive Leadership Programs provide an array of leadership training and education opportunities for CBP senior managers and members of the Senior Executive Service (SES). Serve as the Program Manager and Facilitator for the CBP Capstone Course, a leadership course delivered to a cross-functional mix of newly promoted members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) and the CBP Leadership Institute (LI), a leadership program delivered to newly promoted senior managers (GS-15). The CBP Capstone Course is designed to provide a comprehensive and systematic means of preparing new CBP SES to assume an executive-level leadership position within CBP by focusing on the critical operational and leadership mandates of the new executive. The course provides a rigorous program of study designed to develop a broad perspective on management and leadership issues unique to senior leaders of a federal law enforcement organization. The curriculum focuses on the critical operational and leadership mandates of senior leaders who lead large workforces and who have a significant impact on the climate and culture of large swaths of CBP. The CBP LI program is designed to cultivate strong abilities in the competencies of the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQ), develop emotionally intelligent leaders, and strengthen the role of leaders in creating an organizational culture capable of countering workforce challenges and strengthening the resiliency of CBP employees.

Coordinated and scheduled a cadre of ICF certified Executive Coaches as part of the CBP LI Executive Coaching Program. Additional CBP LI program assessments included the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ), and the Gallup Q12 Employee Engagement Survey. The CBP LI Program was awarded the 2016 DHS Human Capital Award for Professional Excellence in Learning and Development and the 2017 "Outstanding Human Performance Intervention" award of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).
