Designed and/or modified electrical drawings, ladder logic programs, human machine interface programs, and data collection applications. Provided on-site field service assistance to various customer in various industries. Designed an electrical control system for a bulk adhesive storage and transfer system. Designed and implemented an environmental data collection system for collecting key environmental variables from a solvent based adhesive tape manufacturing line for EPA reporting purposes. Designed and implemented a process data collection system for collecting process data from adhesive tape manufacturing lines

Prepared project proposals/quotations. Designed ladder logic programs and operator interface applications for various types of data acquisition systems and industrial equipment. Provided field assistance to customers on various Omron, GE Fanuc and Allen-Bradley products. Trained customer personnel on Omron’s CX-Programmer and SYSWIN PLC programming packages. Recruited by the management team to establish the new Design Services Department within Lakewood Automation. Established the operating procedures for the new Design Services Department. Developed all of the key documents for the new Design Services Department such as the project proposal template, departmental schedule of fees, employee timesheet, etc.

Redesigned, programmed, and debugged PLC based electrical control systems for various types of industrial equipment such as automotive paint testing booths and tire testing cells. Designed ladder logic programs and operator interface applications for various types of industrial equipment such as process water chillers and ceramic/metal machining cells. Provided field support to numerous customers on various GE Fanuc products. Trained customer personnel on GE Fanuc programming software and control products (90/30, VersaPro, and Series 90 Genius I/O Systems). Took initiative to implement a Six Sigma project that identified a flaw in the field time reporting process. Recruited by corporate officer to join a multi-discipline team to implement a Six Sigma web-based time reporting tool, resulting in $186K savings.

Assisted in the relocation, debug, and start-up of 1500-ton plastic injection molding presses for Delphi Interior & Lighting Systems. Debugged several automated cells on an engine assembly line for Navistar International Transportation Corporation. Identified and discussed with management the shortcomings of the injection molding press relocation project, mainly the inventory of mission critical machine parts. Established a network of suppliers for mission critical machine parts, reducing press downtime from 2 weeks to 48 hours.

Designed, programmed, and debugged the electrical and pneumatic control systems for multiple laser welding cells for Vision Automotive Systems. Designed, programmed, and debugged operator interface screens for a trailing arm assembly machine. Programmed and debugged a low cost laser welding cell for use in company lab. Supervised the installation and start-up of multiple laser welding cells at various customer facilities. Supervised multiple machine acceptance run-offs. Established and maintained a system for customer specifications control. Took initiative to assist electrical assemblers with the “build phase” of multiple machines

Assisted with the programming and testing of a multi-cell robotic weld line and spray booth. Installed, tested, and debugged two automated mastic spray booths for coating automotive parts. Supervised the installation of a natural gas telemetering system. Designed and supervised the installation of a five-user Novell LAN. Generated operating standards for manufacturing equipment. Generated weekly production schedules for the welding and paint departments. Researched and designed $750K plant-wide Enterprise Resource Planning computer system. Selected by the VP of Engineering to join a team responsible for designing a major plant expansion.
