Producer / The Freight Intern at Freight 360

My role as an Onsite Medical Representative is to handle injuries as they occur in the warehouse and case management during the duration of the injuries. I also am part of the Environmental Health and Safety team where I inspect elements of the building for safe conditions, coach employees on proper working habits, and analyze data for trends in both categories. I am also responsible for utilizing multiple software systems to pull data and analyze trends in regards to injuries or unsafe conditions within the warehouse and come to up with a plan to mitigate these trends. I have implemented redesigns on carts to allow for a safer workspace and implemented a process on our PIT dock to mitigate any PIT / pedestrian actions. I was also part of an Amazon.com wide team of twenty people to reorganize the supply list and approved items for available for a first aid providers and onsite medical representatives to properly care for injured employees

As a Hospital Corpsman I was a health care provider for other Sailors and Marines. I also attended Field Medical Training Battalion school which specializes in emergency medicine for combat scenarios and assist Hospital Corpsman in integrating within the Marine Corps community. Daily tasks included screening patients and documenting care. Assessing pertinent medical information and chief complaint, performing necessary procedures for diagnostic purposes and relaying information appropriately to the doctor. Other jobs included day to day clerical and administrative functions, Field coverage that consisted of being the medical professional on scene while Marines/Sailors were training or doing exercises. During field coverages my responsibility was to attend to any Marine/Sailor they had an injury/illness as well as mitigate any potential hazards that I may have deemed unsafe for the training excercise. For both of my commands my other duty was ensuring our inventory was sufficient for day to day tasks. While stationed in Quantico, Va. I was personally responsible for the inventory of a clinic that took care of persons attending Officer Candidate school and the staff. We had a budget of $600,000 and during summer our needs for supplies drastically shifted and I was responsible for executing a plan to ensure our clinic had the supplies necessary to complete our duties. While stationed in Camp Pendelton, Ca. I was responsible for our units supply and during month long field ops I was personally responsible to ensure we had all the supplies necessary to fulfill our tasks and stock a clinic in the field that could take care of and stabilize injuries/illnesses prior to transport.
