Current-Oversee and provide active management of the bank’s credit analysis function. This includes hosting department wide trainings, 1 on 1 training sessions, reviewing credit packages, etc. The training library and case studies have increased tenfold under my tenure, which has improved consistency and reduced errors. -Responsible for managing a team of underwriters (size of team varies but has been as many as 5 direct reports) and ensure they meet service level agreements. -Developed new and enhanced stress models for both C&I and CRE credits, the latter of which includes models that are asset class specific. -Co-developed a robust covenant testing procedure, which increased the timeliness of covenant tests by over 90%. This process has also reduced financial statement exceptions by nearly 30%, and has allowed for these exceptions to be cleared within 2 business days, versus 1-2 weeks with the legacy process. -Voting member of Adverse Assets Committee that meets quarterly to discuss the Bank’s watch list credits, which includes risk rating changes and action plans. -Co-developed the Annual Credit Exposure Review process, which proactively monitors the Bank’s relationships that have credit exposure in excess of $5,000,000, giving visibility to 79% of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio annually. Voting member of the Annual Credit Exposure Review Committee that meets monthly to monitor these relationships. -Assist with special projects, such as vetting new vendors. This includes screening over 5 prospective financial statement spreading vendors, negotiating the contract, and was the team lead in implementing the new spreading software within 90 days of contract signing. The new software has now allowed the department to consistently meet defined service level agreements. In conjunction with the rollout, developed a new spreading guideline along with a robust training and review process, which has seen errors on final statement spreads reduced by over 70%.
