UK Energy Storage (UKEn) has the mission of ensuring this country’s energy security and, ultimately, Powering Britain.In support of government objectives to achieve Net Zero, and responding to National Grid future energy scenarios, UKEn is working to help drive the UK’s transition to environmentally friendly fuels and British energy independence, developing the UK’s nascent hydrogen economy and future use of new energy storage technology.UKEn emphasises the necessity of strategic infrastructure defined and built to encompass the whole green hydrogen energy chain – production, storage, distribution and use. UKEn is currently developing the Portland Hydrogen hub as the largest-yet salt-cavern hydrogen storage solution to be envisaged for the UK.Salt-cavern storage, a proven technology used successfully in the UK since 1972, is fast becoming a focus for investment and national development around the world. The Portland Port site is strategically located between the South Wales and Southampton industrial hubs and within a deep-water port. Its modular storage facilities will provide around 15% of the UK’s initial hydrogen storage requirement and provide one of the UK’s first major ‘hydrogen batteries’ to capture and store excess renewable wind power via on-site green hydrogen generation. UKEn’s Portland Hydrogen Hub envisages initial throughput of 28m m3 /day 1 bcf/day (1 bcf/day ), equivalent to 14% of the UK's daily natural gas demand. The project will support the UK’s energy mix diversification, attract investment, create jobs, reduce carbon emissions, and deliver 1.2 bcm (~43 bcf ) of new underground storage in phase 1 – a 70% increase in the UK’s current capacity – clearly demonstrating the UK’s leadership and commitment in innovative green technologies.

UK Oil & Gas Investments PLC ("UKOG"​) is currently focussed on delivering shareholder value by building a portfolio of producing, appraisal and exploration assets initially in the UK onshore. The company currently has interests in four producing conventional oil fields, three undeveloped oil discoveries and multiple exploration opportunities in the Weald and Wessex basins. UKOG is leading the evaluation and possible development of the recent Horse Hill oil discovery's conventional Portland and hybrid Kimmeridge limestone and shale oil pools. UKOG is actively pursuing further growth opportunities in the UK and internationally.

Instrumental in building the company's core asset base. Built the technical team and led the commercial and technical aspects of the company's Horse Hill, Greater-Weald and Isle of Wight projects.

Planned/organised project implementation including prospect generation, well locations, well design, 3D seismic, ETAPand DGE buy-in to FDP and exploration programme. Tunisia expl. & appraisal asset rights assigned to Mazerine Energy & ratified Feb 2014. Significant discovery made in 2015 with tested rates of 5,000 bopd.

Helped Walter van de Vijver and team build E&P opportunity portfolio to raise $1.2 billion start-up capital pool for asset aquisitions and investment. Evaluated and drove evaluations & due diligence on 30+ global corporate oil & gas portfolios including 125 fields (producing and appraisal), 100+ exploration prospects and 4 unconventional shale gas assets. Four diverse assets acquired.

Created start-up Libyan exploration company, awarded 6 blocks with part-carried interest in partnership with Woodside. Trade sale to European Integrated IOC 2004. Four discoveries made. Ultimate gross portfolio value >$700MM created (2008 @~$60/bbl oil price).

Lead E & A business in Europe, Africa, Libya, M. East and S. America. Made 3 Argentina and Libya Al Jorf field offshore discoveries plus successful appraisal wells in Libya and Qatar Al Rayyan.

Rationalised Romania portfolio divesting Doina gas field to Paladin, created Libya entry strategy.

Ran ARCO technology business delivering new seismic technology/methods which resulted in 5 discoveries & undrained field gas reserves in 1.5 years

Ran ARCO’s Algerian exploration business resulting in Semhari field & 3 non commercial discoveries. Acquired at time world’s largest land 2D seismic programme on schedule & under-budget

Lead evaluation of all S. America basins and helped create ARCO’s S. America E&P growth/entry strategy. Lead to entry into Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.

Ran NV business and managed all aspects of existing operated/non-operated assets. Created project, negotiated and acquired 4 blocks leading to Romania Doina offshore gas field. Evaluated E. Africa basins leading to Mozambique venture and Temane field (~2Tcfg).

Lead Netherlands operated country-entry acquiring 6 blocks. Created & lead operated entry into German offshore. Made 2 gas discoveries. Successfully appraised/developed 4 gas fields.

Lead Puffin HTHP appraisal and equity re-determination. Co-discovered 4 giant fields in N. Norway of 1.9 Billion bbls and 8Tcfg gross 2P reserves.

Discovered UK Fiddich field and Ireland Connemara discovery.
