As Assistant Attorney General (Public Safety) represents the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection and the Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC) before state and federal courts and administrative tribunals, as required. Conducts defense of agency and State Police personnel in critical, complex civil rights and tort litigation. Provides advice, guidance and training on legal standards, agency policy and legislative initiatives, including use of force, professional standards, agency accreditation, vehicular pursuit, body worn cameras, development of statewide criminal justice databases, and compliance with state Freedom of Information law. Ensures that all law enforcement officers in the State of Connecticut attain and maintain the highest professional standards.
