As a Staff Engineer I am responsible for designing site layout for various land development projects, performing stormwater calculations and working on minor road design projects. I also provide guidance to junior engineer staff when needed for different engineering tasks.

I am responsible for performing stormwater modeling for municipalities using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GeoHecRas, and other modeling software. Primary objective of the modeling is to find a feasible solution for various villages/cities that are plagued by chronic stormwater issues that stem from old infrastructure and undersized storage facilities (designed using outdated standards). Provide Drainage/Grading Plan Review services of residential development projects for the City of Park Ridge, IL.Project Manager for Land Devleopment projects that are governed the MWRD WMO, Chicago Stormwater Ordinance, DuPage County Stormwater Management Ordinance, and various other municipal stormwater ordinances.Responsible for overseeing and managing the survey equipment that is used for various studies and updating atlases for municipalities. Performed multiple Location Drainage Studies for Illinois Department of Transportation, where detailedhydrologic analysis is required to mitigate any stormwater related issues associated with an intersection.Analysis included developing hydrologic models (WIN-Tr20, HEC-HMS), stormwater detention design, and culvert/storm sewer hydraulic models (HEC-RAS, Geo-Pak Drainage).Prepared full site development plans and stormwater detention calculations for a Chicago Public School Stadium renovation. Effectively resolved an unknown utility conflict during the construction phase of thisroject and prevented the project from experiencing further delays.Generated profiles and cross-sections based on existing conditions and those determined by roadway design calculations using Geopak.

Designed storm water improvements, preliminary engineering calculations, plans, and prepared cost estimates. Prepared storm sewer hydraulic calculations, as well as, detention calculations as required by DuPage County, various City entities, City of Chicago, and the MWRDGC. Design software used to model storm sewer and detention facilities included: Hydraflow/Geopak drainage and SCS TR-20. Compiled the required documentation and saw through to completion the submittal of FEMA LOMR-F, LOMA, and Elevation Certificate applications for various residential and commercial sites. Acted as a third party water main inspector for Illinois American Water Company (ILAWC) for commercial sites. Responsible for site inspections and coordination of water main installation with the contractor, ILAWC, and the client. Responsible for compiling water main installation reports in order for the client to connect to the water main. Assisted in the development of proposals for engineering projects by generating exhibits and research into possible floodplain issues. Performed site visits to obtain information not available on provided surveys. These items included: measuring invert depths of sewers, measuring in marked water main locations, and confirming sewer flow directions. Compiled the documentation and plans needed to prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) required for construction sites by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency NPDES Phase II Program. Prepared applications and documentation required for IDOT drainage connection permits. Executed several types of surveys in the field with a Sokkia Set 3B theodelite. Carried out crew cheif reponsibilities on several surveys.
