Over 3½ years as RFP Project Lead at Medical Solutions, a $2.3 billion company with over 2,000 employees across seven (7) offices. Prior to Medical Solutions, I wrote RFPs and proposals as part of a team of 10 writers for almost seven (7) years at PayFlex in Omaha. Soon after I was hired at PayFlex, it was announced we had been acquired by Aetna. During my time at PayFlex, I wrote proposals that mostly supported bids for flexible benefit plans (FSA, HSA, HRA) that were associated to HDHPs, as well as COBRA, Wellness, and Tuition Reimbursement bids. Prior to the acquisition by Aetna, proposals were written to support our National Sales Staff. After the Aetna acquisition, proposal support expanded to include bids by legacy Aetna sales staff across the country as well as PayFlex sales staff. I worked remotely during the last two (2) years of my time at PayFlex.

2009-2010 – Grant Writer & Coordinator at Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska. Wrote grant applications, appeals and proposals that were awarded over $2.5 million. This allowed Lutheran Family Services (LFS) to expand its capacity, create new programs and partnerships, and sustain on-going programs. Located new funding sources through state and federal agencies, private foundations and faith-based groups. Wrote Letters of Inquiry (LOI). Submitted applications and LOI’s via hard copy, email or through funder’s website. After receiving news of an award, followed up with funders to either thank them for the grant or to inquire why award was denied -- which helped develop new relationships, strengthen existing partnerships and improve future applications. Attended “Logic Model and Outcomes” trainings (United Way and Nebraska Arts Council) and attended early childhood interventions seminars (Building Bright Futures and 40 Developmental Assets). (LFS specializes in refugee and immigration services, behavioral health, children services and adoption.)

2009 – Client Manager at Medical Solutions. Contacted hospitals and outpatient clinics nationwide to assess and fill nurse and other medical staffing vacancies. Listed vacancies on company intranet and on select job sites. Managed and updated contact database (SalesLogix) to accurately reflect call history and to schedule follow ups via phone, email and fax. Adhered to daily calling times and contact goals. Blind-submitted candidates to hospitals and clinics when appropriate and then followed up. Established and maintained long-term relationships with hospital and clinic contacts for greater ease with future placements.

Internet auction sales and fulfillment worldwide via eBay under the brand name Sheebay. Managed client property beginning with selection and transport. Content Creator and Content Strategist; Photographed items, wrote compelling and approachable item descriptions. Crosslisted auctions on Craigslist and special interest web boards for maximum visibility. Managed database of Sheebay subscribers; notified subscribers of new auction listings which accelerated early sales. Promptly and accurately responded to buyer inquiries. Processed buyer payments at the end of auctions. Packaged and shipped items in 48 hours or less. Paid clients and returned unsold items. Nearly 100% positive feedback from buyers; achieved rating score of over 5,000.
