Support LRV Maintenance Engineering in resolving ongoing LFLRV engineering issues and ensure closure of outstanding Mods with Alstom. Optimize vehicle technical specifications by improving system engineering design for next train procurement.

Lead senior engineer responsible for TR subway project closures. Projects includes reactivation of the TDMS (Train Door Monitoring System) /OPTO (One Person Train Operation) system on Line 1, YMSS Wilson access point upgrade, YMSS ITS handover, resolving ATC (Automatic Train Control) project issues with Alstom. Optimize solution for TR brake, propulsion and TIMS network design issues. Other project includes delivery of the YMSS BAI POC by leveraging the use of BAI tunnel infrastructure to optimize real time wayside data transmission of TCMS signals. Act as substitute manager in case of manager's absence.

Seconded as lead project and innovation engineer to support the engineering development of the eBus project. This includes sourcing out electric vehicles and depot chargers, development of SCADA POC, charger architecture design integration with TTC's existing infrastructure and development of load profile algorithm for smart charging application by leveraging the OCPP protocol. The project is complex and involves engineering collaboration with major key stakeholders (EC&E, Toronto Hydro & external consultants). Other involvement includes the development of RFA, RFP, RAMS and FMECA analysis, a requirement for the issuance of vehicle and charger infrastructure safety certificates, as a final step for eBus garage electrification. Other responsibilities includes development of eBus vehicle qualification testing for vehicle head to head comparison using VBOX and Vector J1939 CAN Bus instrumentation equipment.

Lead senior engineer responsible for the engineering development of multi-million Toronto Rocket 4 car conversion project on Line 4 with Bombardier; from design inception, PDR, FDR, Vehicle Qualification, Hazard logs and FTA analysis, RAMS, to final issuance of Safety Certificates. Part of the senior system engineering team responsible for the development and launch of TDMS/OPTO (One Person Train Operation) on Line 4. Part of the team that develop the AODA system, installation and launch on TR and T1 subway trains. Provided engineering support, energy study to EC&E, external consultants resulting in the successful commissioning of the TYSSE (Toronto-York Spadina Subway) extension line.

Develop business case studies for new ECAM propulsion system to replace the aging H4 propulsion on the workcars. Develop and design engineered solutions, drawings, specifications, for capital projects and running maintenance of non-revenue vehicles. Investigate, diagnose, perform failure analysis and recommend cost effective solutions to propulsion issues. Work closely with Human Factors North (HFN) in the investigation of the Yorkdale Fatality resulting in HFN's recommendation to improve workcar vehicle safety. These improvements include retrofitting workcars with better headlight LEDs, equipped with high and low beam feature controlled via the brake pipe pressure line, development of headlight aiming standard based on vehicle's safe braking distance and radio upgrade to the entire workcar fleet.

Address problem reports, subway parts obsolescence by providing clear concise technical directives and solutions. Provide QA audit to ensure components meet the necessary vehicle specification. Produce detailed drawings and technical specifications to manufacturers and suppliers. Perform FAR to diagnose complex subway vehicle engineering issues. Some projects include design improvement executed through retrofit program on T1 Master Controller and replacement of obsolete push button equipped T1 MTUs with touch screen MTUs.

Identify electronic component failures and recommend solutions to H4, H5, H6 and T1 subway train's propulsion control issues. Design and modify test equipment. Improve and make recommendations to procedures, vehicle modifications, equipment calibration and testing. Reprogram FBECU (Friction Brake Electronic Control Unit) Bench Test Equipment in C++ to automate cycle testing. Work with subway Maintenance Engineering to complete ongoing RC&S capital projects.

Maintain, identify and improve process flow on robotic extractors, high speed packaging and palletizing machines. Design and program PLCs on packaging machineries. Develop and maintain machine maintenance programs to reduce downtime. Maintain IBM AS/400 server to enhance system performance on CD/VHS/DVD storage carousels and robotic extractors. Support engineering staff by suggesting machine design improvements.
