My broadcasting education began at WNAS radio at Floyd Central High School - the first student run radio station in America - where I learned the ropes of live broadcasting. This included everything from sports commentating, wiring and designing basic studios, directing, grip work, disc jockeying, radio programming, voice overs, editing, and script and screenplay writing.After high school, I did gigs including weddings, corporate events, galas, promotional and instructional videos, music videos, and everything in between. I've worked with Panasonic, JVC, Canon, Sony and Nikon cameras and edited using reel to reel, Casablanca, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and Edius. I've worked with Tricaster and Panasonic switchers and built graphics using Motion, Live Text, Digital Juice, and Adobe After Effects.My first job in the industry was with (formerly known as) WNDA-Indiana 9 TV in Southern Indiana as a news photog and editor. I also shot and edited business spotlight packages for local businesses and began working in master control using Rushworks Masterplay and A-List systems. I expanded my duties by working as a board op for 1570AM WNDA running the Louisville Cardinals live baseball broadcasts using Digital Jukebox software.In 2009, I joined the Fusion Communications company in Davenport, IA as a full-time master control operator where I learned Harris automation software. Up to this point, all media was dubbed either via linear feed, DVCAM, DVCPro, or Betacam. We began to transition away from tapes toward the end of my stent with the company around early 2011.From 2011 - 2015 I returned to WNDA-Indiana 9 now known as the Kentuckiana Broadcast Group as a production assistant for the Louisville Daily, The Lawyers, and Kentuckiana Motorsports and as a full-time MC operator.In 2015, I moved to Arkansas with my family to work full-time as the primetime supervisor for The Media Gateway's MC dept. and eventually expanded my role to cover radio duties for the Biz Talk Radio Network (BTRN) producing shows for Frankie Boyer, Gary Kaltbaum, and others. Following the tragic loss of our CEO, Jeff Lyle, The Media Gateway was purchased and rebranded as TV Masters in early 2020.Since April 2020, I have worked full-time as a remote department lead for TV Master's network operation center and part-time as a production assistant for News Hub LLC based in Topeka, KS and Little Rock, AR, respectively.
