Stephen Glenn Slade attended Tulane University and the University of Texas graduating summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. He attended the University of Texas Medical School with a final, elective year spent at Guy’s Hospital, London, He completed a residency at the LSU Eye Center in New Orleans and fellowships in corneal surgery at Baylor in Houston and Project ORBIS, NY, NY. Dr. Slade performed the first LASIK in the US and was the first US surgeon to implant the Crystalens and perform Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery. He has the nation’s longest experience in Femtosecond Laser LASIK. Dr. Slade is considered a “surgeon’s surgeon”; over 450 of his fellow eye surgeons have chosen him for their own eye surgery. He has written five textbooks and presented 17 named lectures along with numerous published papers and book chapters. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in “Texas Super Doctors” and “Best Doctors in America”.
