Primarily as a DC Consultant on behalf of a major SI within a large Government account who are undergoing a major ICT and DC restructuring exercise. This included the development and implementation of operational roadmaps, the incorporation of industry best practice, enhanced tool-sets and the implementation of ITIL.

During a planned career break, I was able to undertake a number of short term consultancy assignments on behalf of a start-up venture in the Middle East. Manage the tactical and strategic operation of all Atos Data Centres across the South of England - which includes their "industry leading" water cooled, Tier 4, IL5/6 facility at Andover, as well as two pivotal Govt installations and other smaller facilities. Directly responsible for all Operational and support teams within the DC's and the management of outsource partners (EME, Security, Networks, Catering, Landscaping etc) Represent the company for Data Centre Services during the sales and bid process. Proactively manage all HSE and physical security of the sites. Maintained 100% availability and site security at Andover during construction of new energy centre and chilled water plant. With the Chief Engineer, represented Atos on the Project Board for the construction and handover of the facility. Conceived, implemented and managed numerous "mini projects" to cut costs at all facilities. Total administrative, financial and strategic management of Coca-Cola IS for the Eastern European region covering 27m sq kilometres and 11 time zones. Planned and implemented a programme to consolidate 5 Data-Centres to reduce infrastructure costs whilst still retaining DR / BC capabilities Managed the installation and implementation of Andrews VSAT systems in adverse geographic and weather conditions to replace unreliable Russian copper based WAN's. Developed and delivered a programme to sell surplus VSAT bandwidth to non-competitive businesses as a stand-alone business venture (enabling IT to offset human redundancies)
